The home of Please Touch Museum's professional theater company, The Please Touch Playhouse, comfortably seats 150 people on its four carpeted seating tiers. Two entrances lead visitors from the Wonderland exhibit into the theater space, with each opening to a handicap ramp giving easy access to floor-level seating for wheelchairs and electric scooters.
The stage itself has a sprung wood floor and measures 24 feet wide by 13 feet deep. It also boasts a computerized light board, professional sound system and surrounding act curtain. The Playhouse is also one of the only two excavated spaces at Memorial Hall (the other being Collections storage space), having been carved out of the original foundation work of the building. Many of the Playhouse's exposed walls are the original structural stone from 1876, giving the room a unique and intimate feeling, perfect for family-friendly entertainment!
